AI-Powered Brain Health Screening,
Built for African Communities

The African NeuroHealth app helps you learn about stroke warning signs, dementia-related symptoms, and everyday factors that can affect brain health. Explore short quizzes, screening tools, and practical guidance. Results are informational and do not replace assessment by a qualified health professional.

No account is needed to explore public learning activities. Test what you know about FAST stroke warning signs, practise recognising symptoms that need urgent care, and learn when memory or thinking changes deserve clinical attention.

The app is designed for public education and self-guided learning. It does not diagnose stroke or dementia, and it cannot determine whether a person is currently having a stroke.

🏛️

Interactive Brain Health Geography of Africa

Explore privacy-protected summaries of stroke-risk, dementia-risk and cognitive-symptom assessments where enough records are available. Modelled results are not disease-prevalence estimates.

NeuroMap is public. It displays only privacy-protected aggregate data when enough eligible records are available. No data is not the same as low risk.

Current configured field-survey summaries cover selected Ogun State sites. Other locations will show no data until eligible aggregated records are available.

🩹 Pain & Stroke Risk Study

A research study exploring whether pain patterns — headache frequency, pain intensity and location, and analgesic use — can help identify elevated stroke risk earlier. Your responses contribute to the "Silent Signals" study. All data is used for research purposes only.

🧠 Vascular Risk Profile — Based on Your Entry
⚠️ This is an indicative risk estimate based on your vascular profile — it is not a clinical diagnosis. Your data has been saved to the Silent Signals research dataset. Consult a qualified healthcare provider for personalised assessment.
🩹

This study collects pain phenotype data to test whether it can improve early stroke risk identification. There's no immediate result shown — your entry is added to the research dataset for later analysis.

Herbal Remedies for Stroke

Documented traditional plant-based remedies used across African communities for stroke and related conditions, gathered through ethnobotanical fieldwork. Entries are reviewed before publication; validation status reflects current evidence — from traditional use only, through preliminary lab findings, to peer-reviewed research.

⚠️ This database is for research and educational purposes only. It is not medical advice — consult a qualified healthcare provider before using any plant-based remedy, especially alongside other treatment.
🔬 Preclinical Evidence

Saigon Cinnamon — Laboratory Evidence

26 biomarkers · 84 Wistar rats · 7 treatment groups · Male & Female
Neuroscience & Inflammation Unit, University of Ilorin · Adebimpe-John et al. (in prep.)

📊 Population Context (ANHRL Survey, n=4,000, Ogun State): Among 500 community members reporting Saigon/Ceylon cinnamon use, hypertension rates (25.2%) and forgetting symptoms were slightly lower than non-herb users (26.8%), though not statistically significant (p=0.96). This reflects food-level spice use, not therapeutic dosing. The mechanistic evidence above comes from controlled preclinical research at pharmacological doses. Human dose-response studies are needed before clinical recommendations can be made.
